About Short Selling

Short selling is a bearish tool, it is the reverse mode of general stock trading. Investors first "sell" and then "buy" after borrowing stocks, so that they can make profits even if the market falls.

The nature of short selling transaction is normal stock transaction, investors do not need to worry about the expiry date, strike price and common issues of other bearish market derivatives.

Notes on short selling

01Short selling

Short selling is a bearish investment strategy. Compared with the price falling to zero (valueless) at maximum, the stock price upside is theoretically unlimited. The risk of loss from depositing the required margin to borrow stock for short selling may be significant and the client may suffer losses exceeding the assets placed with Webull. After opening the stock information page in the Webull APP and confirming that the stock is "Shortable", place short sell order if there is no relevant stock long position.
