Instruction for account opening


How to open a Webull securities account?


Step one: Click on "Open Account" on the main interface.




Step two: Select your region of residence and upload relevant identity documents.

Step three: Fill in your personal information.

If you are not a Hong Kong permanent resident, you will need to upload a second form of identification.

Step four: Fill in your employment and contact information, and upload proof of your residential address.


If you are an employee of a licensed corporation/registered institution, please select "Yes" and upload your employer's consent letter.

Step five: Choose the account type, and fill in your financial situation and investment experience.

Step six: At this stage, you have submitted the account opening information. To complete the account opening process, you are required  to link a bank card registered under the same name and initiate a fund transfer of no less than HKD 10,000 / RMB 10,000 / USD 1,300.


1.eDDA Deposit

Electronic Direct Debit Authorization (eDDA) currently only supports transfers in Hong Kong dollars. The bank account name must be the same as the name on the Webull Securities account. After the customer submitted the information and completed the eDDA authorization through the Webull app, the funds will be debited from the bank account and deposited into the Webull Securities account once the securities account is opened.

For banks offering real-time authorization, such as HSBC, you need to enter the SMS verification code sent by your bank to complete the authorization and verification process.



2. FPS Transfer


You may select from HKD, RMB, or USD denominated accounts and utilize the Faster Payment System (FPS) Transfer. The bank account name must be the same as the name on the Webull Securities account. The customer can initiate the remittance through their online banking platform by filling in Webull Securities' FPS information. After completing the remittance, please notify Webull through Webull APPs, submit the deposit amount, and upload the proof of the remittance.

3. Online Banking/Counter Transfer


You may select from HKD, RMB, or USD denominated accounts for online banking or counter transfer. The bank account name must be the same as the name on the Webull Securities account. The customer can initiate the remittance through their online banking platform or bank counter by filling in Webull Securities’ recipient information. Our beneficiary bank account is with CMB Wing Lung Bank Limited. After completing the remittance, please notify Webull through Webull APPs, submit the deposit, and upload the proof of remittance. 。

Step seven: Account Opening Application Completion


After the remittance and notification, your account opening application is complete. Our team will complete the review of your application within 1 to 2 working days. If any modification or additional information is required, or when your account is successfully opened, you will receive a system message and email notification. Please stay attentive to Webull APPs and your email inbox.
