What is the maximum amount of funds or stocks that can be borrowed for short selling?

The maximum number of shares that can be borrowed for short selling depends on the initial margin rate of the shares and the balance of your account. If the cash account is insufficient funds, but there is sufficient purchasing power. Webull will automatically provide users with margin limit according to your account assets in order to maintain a sufficient mortgage amount. The maximum number of shares that can be sold when placing an order, shown as below:
