Trading rules

Pre- Opening Period 
HSI、HHI、MHI、MCH、HTI:
Morning Session
Operable order types
08:45 a.m. – up to 09:10 a.m.
(Random cutoff start from 09:09 a.m.) 
Permissible to submit, modify and cancel for limit orders and auction orders
After cutoff – up to 09:13 a.m.
(Random cutoff start from 09:12)
Only permissible to place auction orders, orders  modification or cancellation are not allowed
After cutoff -  09:15 a.m. 
If no matching auction orders are obtained, the auction orders will be converted to a limit order at the market opening price determined by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Afternoon session
operable order types
12:30 p.m. – up to 12:55 p.m
(Random cutoff start from 12:54  p.m)
Permissible to submit, modify, cancel auction orders
After cutoff – up to 12:58 p.m.
(Random cutoff start from 12:57 p.m.) 
Only permissible to place auction orders, orders  modification or cancellation are not allowed
After cutoff -  up to 13:00 p.m.
If no matching auction orders are obtained, the auction orders will be converted to a limit order at the market opening price determined by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
MSCI Index futures
08:30 a.m. to 08:40 a.m.
(Random cutoff start from 08:39) 
Permissible to submit, modify and cancel for limit orders auction orders
After random cutoff – up to 08:43 a.m.
(Random cutoff start from at 08:42 a.m.) 
Only permissible to place auction Orders, orders  modification or cancellation are not allowed
After random cutoff - up to 08:45 a.m.
If no matching auction orders are obtained, the auction orders will be converted to a limit order at the market opening price determined by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
