Listen to the news

Even if it's not a huge purchase, we think it was good to see that Shaobo Huang, the Financial Controller & Executive Director of Kimou Environmental Holding Limited (HKG:6805) recently shelled out HK$558k to buy stock, at HK$1.22 per share. However, it only increased their shares held by 1.7%, and it wasn't a huge purchase by absolute value, either.

Kimou Environmental Holding Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Executive Chairman of the Board Lianghong Zhang bought HK$22m worth of shares at a price of HK$1.25 per share. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, even at a higher price than the current share price (being HK$1.21). Their view may have changed since then, but at least it shows they felt optimistic at the time. We always take careful note of the price insiders pay when purchasing shares. As a general rule, we feel more positive about a stock if insiders have bought shares at above current prices, because that suggests they viewed the stock as good value, even at a higher price.
