Some TTM Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:TTMI) shareholders may be a little concerned to see that the Executive VP and President of Aerospace & Defense (A&D) Sector, Catherine Gridley, recently sold a substantial US$1.0m worth of stock at a price of US$40.46 per share. That sale reduced their total holding by 32% which is hardly insignificant, but far from the worst we've seen.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At TTM Technologies

In fact, the recent sale by Catherine Gridley was the biggest sale of TTM Technologies shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. So what is clear is that an insider saw fit to sell at around the current price of US$40.06. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. Given that the sale took place at around current prices, it makes us a little cautious but is hardly a major concern.

Insider Ownership

Another way to test the alignment between the leaders of a company and other shareholders is to look at how many shares they own. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. It appears that TTM Technologies insiders own 1.7% of the company, worth about US$71m. While this is a strong but not outstanding level of insider ownership, it's enough to indicate some alignment between management and smaller shareholders.
