Insider Sellers Might Regret Selling Synagistics Shares at a Lower Price Than Current Market Value

Listen to the news

Synagistics Limited's (HKG:2562) value has fallen 20% in the last week, but insiders who sold S$82m worth of stock over the last year have had less success. Given that the average selling price of S$7.19 is still lower than the current share price, insiders would probably have been better off keeping their shares.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

Synagistics Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the insider, Tak-Lam Chan, sold HK$51m worth of shares at a price of HK$8.85 per share. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. The silver lining is that this sell-down took place above the latest price (HK$1.96). So it may not shed much light on insider confidence at current levels.

Insiders in Synagistics didn't buy any shares in the last year. You can see the insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year depicted in the chart below.
