Listen to the news

Some BrainAurora Medical Technology Limited (HKG:6681) shareholders may be a little concerned to see that the Chief Strategy Officer & Chairman, Zheng Tan, recently sold a substantial HK$515m worth of stock at a price of HK$5.60 per share. That sale reduced their total holding by 30% which is hardly insignificant, but far from the worst we've seen.

BrainAurora Medical Technology Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Notably, that recent sale by Zheng Tan is the biggest insider sale of BrainAurora Medical Technology shares that we've seen in the last year. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. It's of some comfort that this sale was conducted at a price well above the current share price, which is HK$4.80. So it may not tell us anything about how insiders feel about the current share price.

You can see the insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year depicted in the chart below. If you click on the chart, you can see all the individual transactions, including the share price, individual, and the date!

Insider Ownership

Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. BrainAurora Medical Technology insiders own 43% of the company, currently worth about HK$2.6b based on the recent share price. This kind of significant ownership by insiders does generally increase the chance that the company is run in the interest of all shareholders.
