Apellis Pharmaceuticals, Centessa Pharmaceuticals, Agios Pharmaceuticals And Other Big Stocks Moving Higher On Tuesday

U.S. stocks were higher, with the Dow Jones index gaining more than 600 points on Tuesday.

Shares of Apellis Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:APLS) rose sharply during Tuesday's session after the company announced that it will be acquired by Biogen (NASDAQ:BIIB) for $41 per share.

Apellis Pharmaceuticals shares jumped 136.4% to $40.40 on Tuesday.

• Agios Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:AGIO) shares jumped 16.3% to $34.44 after the company announced that it will pursue accelerated FDA approval for mitapivat, an oral pyruvate kinase activator in sickle cell disease, following completion of its pre-supplemental New Drug Application (sNDA) meeting.
• Fulcrum Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:FULC) gained 15.2% to $7.58.
