Hamilton Insurance Group, Ltd. (NYSE: HG) (“Hamilton” or the “Company”) announced today that AM Best has upgraded the Financial Strength Rating to “A” (Excellent) for Hamilton Select Insurance, Inc. (“Hamilton Select”), the Company’s US excess and surplus lines (“E&S”) underwriting platform. The outlook of this Credit Rating is stable.
AM Best noted that the ratings upgrade of Hamilton Select is primarily driven by recent enhancements of the explicit support provided by Hamilton and also reflects Hamilton Select’s strategic importance to Hamilton.
The upgraded rating supports the continued development of Hamilton Select as a core US E&S underwriting platform within Hamilton and aligns with the Company’s strategy of building a diversified, global specialty insurance and reinsurance company.
