Listen to the news

Potential Gudou Holdings Limited (HKG:8308) shareholders may wish to note that the CEO & Executive Director, Guowei Jiang, recently bought HK$796k worth of stock, paying HK$0.055 for each share. Although the purchase is not a big one, by either a percentage standpoint or absolute value, it can be seen as a good sign.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Gudou Holdings

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by insider Zhao Ping Han for HK$6.5m worth of shares, at about HK$0.06 per share. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at above the current price of HK$0.053. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. We always take careful note of the price insiders pay when purchasing shares. As a general rule, we feel more positive about a stock if insiders have bought shares at above current prices, because that suggests they viewed the stock as good value, even at a higher price.

Does Gudou Holdings Boast High Insider Ownership?

I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. While this is a strong but not outstanding level of insider ownership, it's enough to indicate some alignment between management and smaller shareholders.
