CVRx Inc. (NASDAQ:CVRX) shares plunged more than 45% after the company slashed its full-year revenue outlook despite reporting double-digit sales growth during the second quarter.

The stock closed Thursday’s regular session up 6.45% at $5.94 before falling 46.13% to $3.20 in overnight trading.

CVRx is a commercial-stage medical device company that develops Barostim, an implantable neuromodulation therapy designed to treat patients with heart failure.

Guidance Overshadows Strong Quarter

For the second quarter ended June 30, 2026, CVRx reported revenue of $15.7 million, up 16% year over year. U.S. revenue increased 21% to $14.8 million, while gross margin improved to 87% from 84% a year earlier. The company also expanded its active U.S. implanting centers to 258 from 240 last year.

Net loss narrowed to $14 million, or 53 cents per share, compared with a net loss of $14.7 million, or 57 cents per share, a year earlier. The company ended the quarter with $64.6 million in cash and cash equivalents.

Despite those results, CVRx reduced its full-year 2026 outlook and now expects revenue between $58 million and $60 million. The company also forecast third-quarter revenue of $13.5 million to $14.5 million.

CEO Kevin Hykes said the company was encouraged by its revenue growth and reimbursement progress but acknowledged challenges for the remainder of the year.

“We are pleased with the strong revenue growth and margin performance in the second quarter along with the reimbursement progress we made… However, we are not satisfied with our updated outlook for the balance of the year, driven by fewer sales territories than anticipated, lower sales force productivity and a prolonged challenge with one of our largest payers,” Hykes said.

The company also highlighted a new Medicare Advantage coverage policy from Humana Inc. (NYSE:HUM) for Barostim therapy that became effective in May, calling it an important reimbursement milestone.

Over the past 12 months, CVRX shares have declined 15.86%.
