Grab Holdings jumped 9.1% to US$3.12 in the first full session after reporting Q3 2026, a sharp move for a stock that had slipped over the past three months. The headline that lit the fuse was record adjusted EBITDA of US$237 million and all three core businesses profitable at the segment level for the first time.
Short term traders see a pop. Longer term investors are eyeing something different: a ride hailing and deliveries platform now printing positive free cash flow and raising full year EBITDA guidance while still funding growth in artificial intelligence and financial services.

Supporters argue that Grab Holdings’ AI engine is already lifting earnings power for drivers and merchants and feeding into profitability.
"Scaling AI across a 14 year proprietary data set of over 20 billion transactions and 52 million monthly transacting users is already feeding into products like Turbo and the merchant AI assistant. Management links these initiatives to higher earnings per driver hour, stronger GMV for merchants and more efficient incentive spend, all of which can support revenue and adjusted EBITDA."
Q3 puts hard numbers behind that claim. Record US$237m adjusted EBITDA, a 73% y/y increase, coincides with all three segments turning segment level profitable and 57m monthly users. Management attributes Deliveries margin improvement and ecosystem cross sell to AI tools, which matches the thesis that AI is now a measurable contributor, not just a cost line.

Bearish investors worry that Grab Holdings’ AI push becomes an expensive hobby rather than an earnings driver.
"The increasing spend on AI infrastructure, including tokenization and cloud capacity, may not be fully offset by efficiency gains or higher merchant and driver monetization. This would keep regional corporate costs elevated and limit improvements in group EBITDA and net margins."
Q3 cuts against that concern but does not kill it. Management reported a 42% q/q drop in compute cost while AI interactions rose 60% and adjusted EBITDA reached US$237m with all segments profitable. That shows clear efficiency wins, yet net income excluding extra items of US$27m and EPS of US$0.0066 still point to a thin earnings base if AI spending re-accelerates.
Grab Holdings just showed how fast sentiment can shift once profits and cash flow start lining up. The real opportunity could be finding stocks that could be undervalued before the market closes that gap.
