Listen to the news

The fact that multiple A Metaverse Company (HKG:1616) insiders offloaded a considerable amount of shares over the past year could have raised some eyebrows amongst investors. Knowing whether insiders are buying is usually more helpful when evaluating insider transactions, as insider selling can have various explanations. However, if numerous insiders are selling, shareholders should investigate more.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

A Metaverse Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

The insider Kin Sun Chan made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for HK$5.7m worth of shares at a price of HK$0.033 each. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, at around the current price, which is HK$0.034. That means they have been optimistic about the company in the past, though they may have changed their mind. If someone buys shares at well below current prices, it's a good sign on balance, but keep in mind they may no longer see value. Happily, the A Metaverse insider decided to buy shares at close to current prices. Kin Sun Chan was the only individual insider to buy during the last year.
