Listen to the news

Insiders who bought CN¥1.47m worth of Lvji Technology Holdings Inc.'s (HKG:1745) stock at an average buy price of CN¥0.50 over the last year may be disappointed by the recent 13% decrease in the stock. Insiders invest with the hopes of seeing their money grow in value over time. However, as a result of recent losses, their initial investment is now only worth CN¥928.0k, which is not what they expected.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

Lvji Technology Holdings Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Founder & Executive Chairman of the Board Weizhong Zang for HK$1.5m worth of shares, at about HK$0.50 per share. That means that even when the share price was higher than HK$0.32 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. It's very possible they regret the purchase, but it's more likely they are bullish about the company. To us, it's very important to consider the price insiders pay for shares. As a general rule, we feel more positive about a stock when an insider has bought shares at above current prices, because that suggests they viewed the stock as good value, even at a higher price. The only individual insider to buy over the last year was Weizhong Zang.
